Hi everyone, in case you weren't there, the winner of our "Dottie DeSantis Volunteer of the Year" award,
the winner was Dave Livesay. To begin with, if you looked in the dictionary for volunteer,
you would see Dottie's picture. She gave her all to those she helped. For AYSO, she coached,
refereed, served on the board as treasurer and secretary. She also helped out with the high school band,
and lacrosse. This even after her daughters were no longer involved. If it involved kids, she was happy to help.
Speaking of Dottie's daughters, Christina and Rachel, we were honored to have them present the award to Dave.
Now to Dave. He has been around AYSO for about 9 years. He's one of our senior refs. Let's just say, one day he
decided to ref soccer. He loved the game so much that he went to training to be a more advanced ref. With that,
he's reffed games for other regions, tournaments and even the AYSO National tournament. All on his own. He's even
mentoring our youth refs and they love him. Mind you, he has no kids in the program. It's something to do when retired.
So if he refs your game, or you see him on the fields, please walk up to him, shake his hand and say thank you.

Volunteer of the Year award is Chris Raysin.
He’s one of the behind the scene volunteers that no one really knows, but here is a list of things
he does:
He helps keep the fields in shape:
-He lays out the fields when required
-He mows when needed
-He weed whacks when needed
-He helps treat the fields
-He lines the fields many times
-He does a lot of the maintenance
Plumbing (leaky faucets, toilet replacement, busted pipes)
Winterizes the fields
He helped with the parking lot
He helps run the concession stand. This helps pay the bills.
He’s on the GSSC board as treasurer
He’s an AYSO parent
He does whatever is needed
