HOW TO REGISTER:
- The parent/guardian needs to create an account first HERE. That link will open Sports Connect, which will direct you through the account creation process.
- You will see Stack Sports, Sports Connect, and/or Blue Sombrero links in your URL bar while registering or viewing your account later.
- After the parent/guardian creates the account, add player(s) to the parent/guardian account.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I REGISTER?
- You will receive an email confirmation after registering from "[email protected]."
- NOTE: Your payment will NOT show up as "AYSO" on your credit card statement! It will show up something similar to "Sc* Region 169 Www.Stackspor Tx."
- Additional mass emails to the region will come from our website email system with an "@bluesombrero.com" domain.
- For Fall season (August-October), you'll start receiving emails in July about needs for coaches and a welcome to the season.
- For Spring season (April-June), you'll starting receiving emails in March about needs for coaches, etc.
- We hold a Parent Information Meeting around 2 weeks prior to the start of each season.
- This is when Coaches receive their rosters and will begin contacting their players.
- The game schedule will become available near or just after this time as well.
- The Grand Blanc AYSO Facebook page is a great resource for when important meetings are scheduled and for other time-sensitive information!
REFUND POLICY:
- There will be no refund of players registration fee (cost of uniform will be refunded) after coaches meeting, approximately 2-3 weeks prior to the start of the season.
- Refunds are not available for players who play in the fall and opt to not return in the spring.
- The National AYSO fee is non-refundable.
- Additional refund questions can be directed to [email protected].
HOW TO VOLUNTEER:
- AYSO runs entirely on volunteers — we are always looking for head coaches, assistant coaches, team parents, and referees!
- Many volunteer roles can be selected right when you register your child.
- All volunteers are required to complete a background check before working with players.
- Coaches must keep their training and certifications current each season to remain active with the region.
- See the VOLUNTEER! tab for open positions.
- If you have questions, contact [email protected].
WAITLIST INFORMATION
- Your player may be waitlisted for a number of reasons. We could be waiting for a team to have enough players to form or trying to find another coach to lead a new team. Since the National AYSO fee is non-refundable, we don't want you to lose that money if we are unable to place players on a team.
- Some Divisions may have a waitlist while others have open registration. This may depend on enrollment or coach availability per division.
- If your player is able to be moved onto a team, our Registrar will contact you to complete the registration/payment process.
- EPIC registration is open at any time before or during seasons but is considered "Waitlist Only" to make sure our program can meet the player's needs. The EPIC director will contact you with more details.
HELP! I MISSED REGISTRATION!
- Our open registration dates are January 10-February 28 for Spring and May 10-June 30th for Fall+Spring. If you miss registering during those times, we *may* be able to accommodate your player, depending on timing and team openings. We do our best to make sure everyone has a chance to play.
- Contact our registrar at [email protected] with your player's information if inquiring about late registration.
- If you are visiting in the off season, sign up to be notified when registration opens! Fill our our Registration Reminder form HERE to receive a reminder email.
WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS NEVER PLAYED SOCCER?
- It is absolutely fine if your child has never played soccer before! In fact, AYSO is designed specifically as an inclusive, recreational program for players of all experience levels and skill sets.
- Your child will be placed in a division based on their age group, and there are no tryouts or cuts to get onto a team.
- One of AYSO's core philosophies is that every child must play at least half of every game. Your child won't sit on the sidelines just because they are learning.
- The region makes a conscious effort to balance skill levels across all teams so that everyone has a fair and fun experience.
SEASON DATES:
- An AYSO Member Year includes Fall and Spring sessions.
- Fall session starts approximately the first weekend after school starts and goes to the end of October.
- Spring session is approximately Mid-April, May, and first week or two of June.
- When your player is signed up for the Fall Session they are also signed up for the Spring Session.
- No games played on Mother's Day.
- No games played on Memorial Day weekend.
HOME GAME SCHEDULE:
- Hartker Games for U6 - U15 are scheduled on:
- Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- One game may be scheduled during the week (due to rainouts or rescheduling).
- Rained out games are the responsibility of the home coach to re-schedule based on home field availability.
- Interplay games are scheduled by the region and are typically available 1-2 weeks before the season starts.
DIVISIONS:
AYSO age divisions are based on an August 1 to July 31 birth date cycle to align players with their school-grade peers. The division cutoffs determine which age group your child is placed into. When you enter your player's birthdate while registering, the system will automatically show available divisions. With region approval, players are allowed to play UP in divisions but not down. Because we are all volunteers, the coach decides on day, time, and location of practice according to his/her schedule.
